Welcome to the #1 EQUINE Photography Studio

Created by horse lovers, for those who understand the bond.

Our equine photography experience is designed to honor the partnership between horse and human and to create artwork that feels elevated, intentional, and deeply personal. As a Kentucky-based equine photography studio, Ella Gagiano Studios crafts every session to provide a luxury experience, whether you’re completely at ease around horses or still feel a sense of awe every time you step into the barn. You’ll walk away with refined equine portraits that reflect the depth, pride, and connection you feel, even if it’s hard to put into words.

This is equine photography for EVERY HORSE PERSON regardless if you have a horse or not! These are the riders and caretakers who wake up early, stay late, and shape their lives around the barn. They are the competitors chasing goals, the families raising kids alongside horses, the women who find their grounding in the quiet moments between rides. The ones who have always imagined themselves riding, running free, and belonging in that world. Who know horses aren’t a phase or a pastime – they’re part of who you are.

And you already have the one thing all of our equine clients share in common:
you understand that this connection deserves to be seen, honored, and remembered.

Our clients don’t come to us just for photos.
They come to preserve a partnership, a chapter, a season of life that deserves to be remembered. A story worth holding onto

Who is Equine Photography for?

Equine photography is for anyone who understands that a horse is never just a horse. It’s for those who share their days, routines, and identity with an animal that has shaped who they are. Whether you ride competitively, trail ride for peace, or simply know the barn is where you breathe easier – this equine photography experience is for you.

We’ve worked with riders, families, and horse lovers throughout Kentucky and beyond. There is no “right” level of experience and nothing you need to prove. Our role as an equine photographer is to create a space where you and the horse can simply exist together, allowing the relationship to be documented with care and intention.

That’s why we begin every equine photography session with an intentional consultation. We take time to understand your horse, your story, and what this season means to you, whether you’re celebrating a partnership, honoring years together, or preserving a chapter that’s changing. The result is imagery that feels honest, personal, and deeply meaningful.

Equine photography is for:

  • Riders who see their horse as a partner, not a possession

  • Women and families who consider the barn home

  • Competitors who want to preserve the journey, not just the ribbons

  • Owners who know their horse has carried them through more than just miles

  • Anyone who wants to honor a bond that deserves to be remembered

Every session is thoughtfully directed to create refined, meaningful artwork. Preserving a partnership, a story, and a moment in time.

If you’re here, you already understand.

Now it’s time to see what equine photography can mean for you…

FAQ'S

Everything you need to know to get this DREAM session started.

What is equine photography?

Equine photography captures the connection between horses and the people who love them. More than portraits, it creates timeless artwork that reflects trust, presence, and partnership. At Ella Gagiano Studios, our Kentucky equine photography sessions are designed to honor both the horse and the human, preserving a bond that words often can’t fully describe.

Do you need to own a horse to book an equine photography session?

No. While many clients photograph their own horses, equine photography is also for those who have always felt drawn to horses and the life they represent. Our Kentucky equine photography experience welcomes riders, dreamers, and those who have long imagined themselves in this world, even if they don’t currently own a horse.

Where do equine photography sessions take place?

Equine photography sessions typically take place at private farms, barns, or meaningful outdoor locations. Based in Kentucky, we work closely with clients to choose locations that feel calm, intentional, and visually timeless, always prioritizing the horse’s comfort and the overall experience.

Do you travel for equine photography sessions?

Yes. Ella Gagiano Studios is based in Kentucky and offers equine photography sessions throughout the region and beyond. Travel is available for destination equine photography, allowing us to serve clients across Kentucky and neighboring states who value refined, intentional equine artwork.

What should I wear for an equine photography session?

Many clients are drawn to the dramatic, flowing dresses often seen in our equine photography – pieces that move beautifully with the horse and create a sense of freedom and presence. If that style is what caught your eye, let us know. We do have an array of dresses available, but just as often clients bring pieces that already feel like them. Ultimately, what matters most is that your outfit reflects you, and we’ll guide you through wardrobe choices so everything feels comfortable, natural, and exciting.

Is equine photography safe for the horse?

Yes. Your horse’s safety and comfort always come first. Every equine photography session is designed to remain calm, respectful, and unhurried. We work with the horse’s natural behavior and boundaries, creating an environment that feels steady, familiar, and stress-free.

How do I book an equine photography session?

Booking begins with a personalized consultation where we discuss your vision, location, and what this season with your horse means to you. From there, we guide you through planning your Kentucky equine photography experience with care, intention, and attention to detail.

Your
Photographer

Ella Gagiano

I was born and raised in South Africa, surrounded by wide land, animals, and a deep respect for the natural world. Life outdoors has always felt like home to me, from early mornings to quiet evenings shaped by routine, responsibility, and care. I’ve since found that same sense of grounding in Kentucky, where I now live on a farm and spend my days alongside dogs, chickens, horses, and mini donkeys.

Horses have always drawn me in for their freedom, their strength, and the way they exist so fully in themselves. There is a raw beauty in them, something untamed and honest, that feels both powerful and deeply romantic. That feeling is what guides my work.

When I photograph horses, I’m not trying to define the connection or put words to it. I’m interested in what it feels like – the movement, the presence, the quiet intensity between horse and human. Whether the story is one built over years or a dream finally taking shape, my focus is on creating images that feel alive, cinematic, and lasting.

There is something special about preserving that kind of beauty – the kind that doesn’t need explaining, only remembering.

PERSONALIZED

Whether this session reflects a lifelong partnership or a dream you’ve held onto for years, the consultation allows us to plan intentionally and thoughtfully from the start.
